CAFÉ AUSTRALIA VERANDA BAR

Alongside the Café will be the Veranda Bar. This will serve a wide range of still and sparkling Australian premium wines, and a number of specially selected Australian craft beers not necessarily widely available in other UK outlets.

The concept of a veranda is a part of the Australian psyche originating the wide overhanging roofs needed to combat the tropical heat in Queensland and the North. These airy verandas of course, became a favourite place to relax with a drink after a hard days work and Café Australia intends to replicate something of that ambiance with the typical roofs and railings seen in the big Queenslander verandas. Louvered shutters, ceiling fans, wooden latticework and cast iron railings add to the tropical, colonial effect.

As well as the Australian wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks, the Veranda Bar will be serving snack foods and favourite light meals including Vili’s Gourmet pies, imported by The Colonial Pie Company, pumpkin scones for morning and afternoon teas and coffees, and many of the delicious branded Australian cakes and biscuits, such as Anzac Biscuits, Mint Slices and lamingtons already imported into the UK by Anglo-Australian Trading Company and marketed at The Australia Shop.
